Band and two songs
Two songs – "Fine night" and "My great rebellion"
Reason for choosing these songs? - This band has some very powerful strong lyrics behind the there sound, and they have helped me through some dark times.
I know things never go to plan, and sometimes things are hard. The situation i am in at the moment has helped me come to this decission to create two designs from this band songs..........Will I get a job? Was University worth it? Where will i go next? Who will I meet next? all these are questions only the the future can tell.
and this band reminds me no matter had bad things get, things will always be better in time.
Lyrics for both songs -
Fine Night
Sing the remains of your anguish
Tormented exhausted move forward
Feel strength relief it’s a new page
It won’t write itself we’ve much work to do now
Cried lied to yourself
Wired fired senses fail
I can’t hold back tears in my eyes
I see the red lines scars forever remind
You’re not alone don’t forget that
You’re not alone don’t forget that
Find what you know
Were you afraid to show
You hid it well from me friend
I’m someone on which you can depend
Please don’t
Cry or lie to yourself
Wired fired sensed failed
I can’t hold back tears in my eyes
I see the red lines scars forever remind
You’re not alone don’t forget that
You’re not alone don’t forget that
You’re not alone don’t forget that
I can’t hold back tears in my eyes
I see the red lines scars forever remind
You’re not alone don’t forget that
You’re not alone don’t forget that
Tormented exhausted move forward
Feel strength relief it’s a new page

My Great Rebellion
I've been told hundred times hypocrites advise my life
We have no hope of better happiness than to join them
We are drifting you and I down a path thats so defined
Blinding light tides advance dreams are swept from my sight
It's freedom in a way from the mind thats been so betrayed
My great rebellion has yet to end
It seems the current is stronger these days that I swim against
Aren't you scared of the day
That we'll all have to let go and flow freely
Hysterical as it may seem I'm not quite sure where I've been
Twenty three years now I'm losing the will to keep counting
Craving something more than this broken heart now nothing fits
Where to now I'm holding on as tight as I can
It's freedom in a way from the mind thats been so betrayed
My great rebellion has yet to end
It seems the current is stronger these days that I swim against
Aren't you scared of the day
That we'll all have to let go and flow freely
The galaxies unfolded once for me
But I can't see the stars anymore
I laid out my dreams to you
It took me time to realise the truth
It's freedom in a way from the mind thats been so betrayed
My great rebellion has yet to end
It seems the current is stronger these days that I swim against
Aren't you scared of the day

Beginning as a company focused on making quality clothing, Diesel has become part of the youth culture worldwide.

When Renzo Rosso founded the company in 1978, he wanted it to be a leader, a company that took chances and carved out a niche for itself in its field.
He surrounded himself with creative, talented people - innovators who, like him, rejected the slavish trend following typical of the fashion industry.
He wanted to create the most dynamic and imaginative product available anywhere: he gave his openminded design team broad stylistic freedom, and their mission was to create an apparel line perfect for independent people who follow their own unique path in life and for those style-makers who express their individuality by the way they dress.
From the very beginning, Diesel's design team, headed by Creative Director Wilbert Das, turned their backs on the style-dictators and consumer forecasters of the fashion establishment and let their own personal tastes lead them.

The company views the world as a single, border-less macro-culture, and the Diesel staff reflects this:
a cosmopolitan team that creates an unpredictable, dynamic vitality and energy within the company.
Diesel "people" and their working methods are so unconventional, albeit productive, that they have been profiled in countless media, and have been studied by international consulting organizations and universities.

Research - How diesel promote there products
This image could be taken in many ways. I see it in a very sexual way with an element of comedy init. I do like the idea of using photo montage in my work, however this design is not what im after.
Again this is a really strong piece covering a woman in cam cream, as men are usually known to be in the Army. I dont think thats the meaning behind this design but each designer to there own. Strong photography is used again.
Probably my favourite image from this list, i love the how diesel accept there brand can come accross camp at the same time as masculine. i like the idea of just highlighting the red aswell. Very strong imagery, i would like a strong piece like this in my collection.
Using comedy in a design is one of my favourite techniques because it straight away attracts the audience. Diesel definitely targets a younger audience and this is perfect for the campaign.
Great photography and the font Diesel use in these post cards work really well. If i am going to use text in my designs I think i would concentrate on helvetica or something very similar.
Love the concept behing this design, it targets there audience well.
Every design i have gone through so far has amazing photography init, i really like the colours in this design though, very neautral and calm. Making him seem innocent? i think as a colour scheme goes in my designs i will definetely work with something like this.
Clean, simple designs like this are very popular at the moment with graphic design, i really like the badge and this is something i would like to concider adding my my designs.
Conclusion - Diesel work on attraction, either with sex, strong powerful images, models, colours or just with emotions. I think all these designs are very strong pieces in what the brand is targeting however i would like to go more personal with my designs and as Diesel create designs based on emotions, i think this is a good area to target.

Brainstorm
Diesel Target A young audience, so i want my design to still reflect this. So i can get a better idea i want to target for my first brainstorm why Diesel are so good with the promotions.
- Playful imagery
- Sex sells
- Bright colours
- Adding serious meanings behind the design?
- Be stupid - everyone needs fun in there lives if not we would live in a strange world.
- Rock n Roll
- electro
- nightclubs
- fashion
I now need to think about some concept ideas for my design.
- Signs
- Stong imagery
- Ilustartion based
- Where will i go next?
- Maze?
- Lost
- Emotional
- Neautral colours
- Tokyo
- Packed Bags
- Touring with my friends.
This is quite a personal project so I understand it might be hard to follow, however once my designs are up things will become much clearer.

Looking life head on concept
My first concept is about not knowing what happens next. Fine Night to me is all about moving on from something you didnt want to do, trying to hold back emotions but realising you're not alone, knowing you have friends and family that will always be there for you.
Few images which have helped me on this concept.
Love the idea of having load of signs like this coming off buildings giving me options with what I am going to do next in life. i could put negatives and positives which is what the song to me represents.
Just gives me basic idea of how buildings look down a street.
like the idea of the black outlined people..... i could do that on my design. Me at the front of the design looking towards all the signs?
Another bright lit up street with all signs. The colours i will use will be much more neautral.
I shall do the outline of me in this style, as i want it to look hand drawn.
PERFECT...... this is exactly how i emagined my design to look like, cant believe i found an image so similar. The first concept will be done in this style.
Finding an image from behind gives me a clearer understanding to how my design will look.
More signs. I might concider just adding red into a few signs on my design, like how diesel did.
Ok so here are a few thumbnails.... i really like image two and six, i think i will take these two further.
more detail sketch - still very rough though
This image is hard to see but it still give you an idea of what i am trying to create

concept 2
For my second concept I thought about still using the image of me but this time looking towards a maze. The idea behind this, eventually i will find the place i need to be in, but it will take some time.
Few images to help me with my sketches
I really like the idea of looking at a maze from above, but this image is even as i could still use my whole body and still see the maze..... good research image.
This image isn't amazing, however it shows me how i can still get the full image of me in the design.
Beautiful piece. maybe i don't have to use a maze, which is very obvious? maybe i could take things a step further?
maybe i could make my design, take a photo then add me in? i quite like this technique.
This is probably one of my favourite styles of work, i would really concider doing something like this, i just need to work out my time and see if i could fit it in?????
Simple Maze to give me an idea of how to design one.
